CL5 Games

Suggestions for games to played at CL5 please! As has become traditional, we'll grab 3 of these to be played at specific times, and the rest can be sorted out on an ad-hoc basis. Good timetabled games possess several, (but unlikely all) of the following qualities:

  • Enjoyed/enjoyable by many members
  • Hence - reasonable PC requirements
  • Playable by many people simultaneously
  • Reasonably easy to install/copy (hence mods for games many people own = win)
  • New/different

but don't feel like you should try and tick things off the list - just yell what you want :P

Personally, I would like a proper game of Hidden:Source, and a game of UT2k4 I can take part in.

Another vote for UT2K4. Possibly a mod, but definitely not carball TYVM.

Maybe AvP2? :D

  • Shattered Horizon was awesome last time I thought.
  • We could have a timetabled time for SupCom to prevent everyone playing it all LAN long.
  • Defance Alliance 2? (Killing Floor mod, can support 20 players)
  • Empires Mod? (bit like Savage but a Source Mod)
  • Savage?

FPS/RTS hybrids. One player is the commander (RTS) while the rest are units (FPS). Savage is quite old (there is a Savage 2 but the gameplay is horrible compared to 1) and has melee stuff and all sorts. Not tried Empires myself but it WW2 based so has guns and stuff rather than old fantasy style in Savage.

I think there's a couple of games I'd like to play "on a big screen" - namely Trine/4 swords/FF:CC
Any chance of having a projector/pc combo near to the consoles? And does anyone have any suggestions/requests for games to go on it. Perhaps a game of something with commentator[s] for people to learn from?

The only thing I think worth putting on the Projector would be a SupCom exhibition game but I'm sure most people would rather just play their own game than watch another. Just set it to observer while the rest of us play but that also means installing it on the machine.

Could try some of the Source mods too, they offer some TV functionality don't they?
